Every make we buy for scrap
Which makes does Cash for Scrap Junk Cars buy?
All of them. Cash for Scrap Junk Cars buys scrap and junk vehicles of any make around Crestwood, from Toyotas and Fords to Hyundais, BMWs, Harleys, Winnebagos and Freightliners. The make matters less than the vehicle's weight, the metal market and what's still on it. Every one is towed free and paid for at pickup.
Japanese makes
Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Lexus, Acura, Infiniti.
Hybrids are common in this group. Leave the high-voltage battery in the car and don't let anyone pull it before the sale; it's part of what we're buying, and removing it is a job for someone trained. Just tell us the car is a hybrid.
Popular models have parts people want, so a complete car with a good engine or transmission can be worth more than its weight. That's covered in our guide on scrapping versus parting out.
American makes
Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln, and gone-but-not-forgotten names such as Pontiac, Saturn, Mercury and Oldsmobile.
Full-size pickups, vans and SUVs are heavy, and weight is a big part of a scrap offer. The door label shows a gross rating, not the weight on the scale.
A discontinued brand doesn't matter to a scrap sale. An old Pontiac or Saturn is bought the same way as anything else.
Korean makes
Hyundai, Kia, Genesis.
Many Hyundai and Kia models sold in the U.S. between 2010 and mid-2021 were built without an immobiliser, and they became targets for theft in the early 2020s. If yours was stolen and came back with a broken ignition or window, we still buy it. Clear the theft report with the police and your insurer first, and tell us on the call.
European makes
Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Mini, Fiat, Land Rover, Jaguar.
The badge doesn't change how scrap is priced: weight, the metal market and what's still on the car do. What usually sends one of these to us is a repair quote, so compare it with the car's value before you decide.
Motorcycles
Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW, Triumph, Indian.
A motorcycle is light, so what's still on it matters more than the scale. In Illinois a bike carries a title like a car, and the same two-ID rule applies.
RVs and commercial vehicles
Winnebago, Thor, Forest River, Jayco, Coachmen and Keystone campers; Freightliner, International, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, Volvo, Isuzu and Hino trucks; Ford, Chevrolet and Ram box trucks and vans.
Big units need the right tow, and we arrange it. A tractor and its trailer, or a motorhome and the car it pulled, each have their own paperwork.
The same rules for every make
Sell it complete. A missing engine, wheels or catalytic converter lowers the offer on a Honda just as it does on a Cadillac; our guide on a missing catalytic converter explains why. Have the title or other proof of ownership and two IDs ready, as our Illinois paperwork guide describes. Then send the year, make and model for an offer.
Questions we get
- My car's make isn't on this page. Will you still buy it?
- Yes. These are just the makes we see most around Crestwood. We buy scrap and junk vehicles of any make; send the year, make and model and we'll quote it.
- Does the make change my scrap offer?
- Not much on its own. Weight, the metal market and what's still on the vehicle set most of the offer. The make and model matter mainly for which parts could be reused.
- Will you take a car with the catalytic converter already gone?
- Yes, at a lower offer, whatever the make. We don't buy converters on their own.
